My name is Carolina and I found my home in the north of Sweden. After moving from Holland, my country of birth, I worked in Germany for a number of years. In those days, having an interestingcareer and well-paid job was an important part of my life. I enjoyed the fast pace and many challenges that came my way, often stretching my own boundaries.
Whenever new challenges became too much of a routine I would start looking around for other opportunities. At such times I felt the need to take a step back for a period of time – time-out. It was a time when I could let new ideas and inspiration flow into my life and in doing so also notice that new doors would open.
I was working as Process Manager for an international recruitment company which entailed a lot of travelling. The work was fun, challenging and well-paid yet part of me was looking for something more, at a deeper level. A turning point came in 2003 when my partner passed away. It made me start thinking a lot more about my own life and what I really wanted.
In the summer of 2006 I finally decided to take time-out in Sweden. It was here that my world would turn around 360 degrees in a very short space of time. Within 24 hours I had bought a house in the north of Sweden. After a week I met a new love of my life – which was love at first sight. Two weeks later I had a new management job. It all just happened. No planning. It was an unbelievable experience.
Since then many more events have shaped my life but the most important lessons I’ve learned is to listen to nature and to enjoy life every day. My wish is for you to be able to do the same.
